RobCharles
I decided to reinstall Utorrent I'm using 1.6.1, and I backed up the Utorrent Folder and the Downloads Folder for safe measures. When I install utorrent I wanted to then see if the port is forwarded its not doing nothing I click on the tab and nothing happens. I never had this before any help?Cheers
jewelisheaven
Don't use 1.6. 1.7 has been the stable for 6 months. Other questions can be asked after you upgrade (official spport staff won't help you until you do)... The port checker is not always correct though it is best to verify with something like http://www.canyouseeme.org
RobCharles
The spooky thing is thou it saw the port fine from your link, I have the port in my router and in my Comodo firewall and I don't see any network symbol in my client! jewelisheaven
so it's open? That's good. If you don't see ANY symbol like http://utorrent.com/faq.php#What_do_the_Network_Status_lights_mean.3F ? That usually means uT isn't communicating at all. Do you have any started torrents? To verify on a new working swarm, can you try downloading a torrent from http://www.slackware.com/torrents/ or http://distribution.openoffice.org/p2p/ and see what happens? RobCharles
No Don't think its open theres a Yellow Symbol at the bottom of client, and the ports are forward in my router and firewall, there must be a bad file in utorrent somewhere cause I can't get nothing to work! DreadWingKnight
How can there be a bad file in uTorrent?uTorrent is only one file. When I install utorrent I wanted to then see if the port is forwarded its not doing nothing I click on the tab and nothing happens.Define what you're clicking and how nothing happens. It could be a problem in your system.
Switeck
You may be triple-firewalled...and you only removed 2 of the roadblocks (the router and Comodo firewall).Do note that the Comodo firewall has to allow both uTorrent's incoming port from the router (on both TCP and UDP if you want DHT support)...and also allow outgoing ephemeral ports (~1000 to ~5000) for uTorrent to use at the absolute minimum.Does your modem also have a mini-router and/or firewall in it that needs to be configured or disabled?
