Thanks PirateX I was running Kaspersky Internet Security 2011 and your post really helped me except for the bloody part which was really annoying and made it difficult to understand what you were saying. But hats of you for helping us out man. I know one other dork who tried to post the solution, he goes by the id danushkamanjula. I believe that only he himself understood his solution. He skipped the steps so much in the process that I was pissed off to read his solution any further.

You are welcome my men. I just tried to make the solution a little bit fun, because you know, when you have problems with the computer you are pissed off, and you can't concentrate on the steps for solving your problem, so with a little bit of fun, you will change your state, from angry to calm, repair the problem and voila everything is solved.

Have a nice day my friend.

FIXED for AVG

Exclude the uTorrent download directory from bloody AVG like this:

Open AVG to the Resident Shield section and clicked the Manage Exceptions button.

Add an exception to exclude the uTorrent download directory from being scanned by Resident Shield and save the changes.

I did this but i still cant download some files. I got Windows 7 ultimate and AVG Internet Security version: 9.0.851.

  • 2 weeks later...
My Pirate friend tried defeating the evil Capt KAV but still giving me the dreaded error message help I am aboutto jump overboard

Everybody has succeed to defeat captain KAV with this method, maybe you are doing something wrong in the steps.

This is the only method that i figured out, to make Utorrent work with KAV without that stupid error.

This method is posted now on a lot of forums and works every time.

I just started having this issue a few days ago. It didn't matter what location I was saving to (they were all within My Docs however), nor which torrent I tried to dl. But I went into file properties for the download folder disabled the "allow indexing check box". (properties/advanced button)

Instantly it started working again and the speed actually increased.

Not sure if it will work for everyone but it worked for me.

This solution (disabled indexing on my download folder) worked the for me.

BTW I have KIS2011 installed and this doesn't cause any issues.

Other information which may be relevant:

I am running Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit.

I tried unchecking "allow indexing," didn't work.

My torrents are located in %USER%\Torrents\

I get this error for ALL of my torrents after about 1-2 hours (or less) of running uTorrent. I was using Bittorrent but tried to use uTorrent instead, and the same thing happens.

uTorrent is a Trusted Application to Comodo; I set the port that uTorrent uses (unchecked Randomize Port) as allowed (this isn't the Comodo forums so detailed information is probably unwelcome).

Thank you for any assistance that may be rendered!

µT or BT, nothing will change because it's the same client.

I would say the culprit is CIS but I don't remember to have seen this error implied by Comodo. AVG and KIS 2011 are often the main culprits.

1/ Did you try to exclude the torrent download folder from Comodo firewall?

2/ Can you give the build version of CIS you are using?

Did you update CIS or one of its modules recently (I mean the program not the virus definitions)?

Was this directed at me? If so: I was following the instructions given by this site's Administrator, which I'm sure trumps any piece of advice or set of instructions (unless this is a very weird place where the word of the boss does NOT, in fact, carry more weight than one of the employees). I thought I was clear on this point when the first line of my post said "I am following the instructions found here," the word "here" linked to the post by this site's Administrator. Scroll up, it's right there, you can't miss it.

It's obvious English isn't your first language, so here's a protip: comments like "thanks for having a brain in your head" is considered very condescending and insulting. It's one of those back-handed compliments like "it's a good thing you're not being an idiot anymore!" Hopefully this concept translates to any language.

By the way, problem solved. I moved everything to a second hard drive. Looks like trying to download torrents to your user folder is folly.

i thought the problem was from utorrent but turned out to be from my antivirus software. i have Kaspersky and the program settings for utorrent were set to untrusted app...

When i changed those settings from Kaspersky options and unticked all options to monitor activities of utorrent, i didnt get the "user mapped " error again... WORKS 100%...

  • 1 month later...

Long time user of UT and never had this problem until a couple of days ago with one torrent of the eight or nine that were downloading without issue,.

Added exception in AVG and no more error message. I find it strange that it suddenly caused a problem with one download and not others....anyway, just registered to say thanks.

b'coz this thread is 10 freaking pages long I skipped to the end looking for a solution, lo' and behold me sees post #229 which for me works a treat. running: Win7Ultimate64, AVGfree9.0.869, µT2.0.4

I post this as per #234 and in case the thread goes 11 pages and like me ppl are looking for a quick fix.

Thanks be Mr pirate for posting that fix, thanks lillajag for posting that post- sorry it didn't work for you but I slept all night without the error happening once.
