Mars Posted August 13, 2008 Report Posted August 13, 2008 HelloI have some problem with that option in uT 1.8, I check it, but it's not working. In uTorrent 1.7 it worked good. Anyone have any idea why it isn't working? Thanks.
Switeck Posted August 13, 2008 Report Posted August 13, 2008 Maybe this guy's problem is similar to yours?:http://forum.utorrent.com/viewtopic.php?pid=348597#p348597
Mars Posted August 13, 2008 Author Report Posted August 13, 2008 No, my files (after I start download them) don't use any disk space. So i can start download a file that have 100GB while i have 80GB disk space, and uT don't show any error, that is not enough space (like it was in uT 1.7). I have checked option Always allocate space.Edit:Or other example. Having 80GB free space, i start download 3GB file, but space at start is still 80GB, after couple of minutes it decrease at size that i have already download, not all 3GB at once, while starting file.
thelittlefire Posted August 14, 2008 Report Posted August 14, 2008 1.8 default option for diskio.sparse_files is TRUE. Sparse files do NOT take up the full disk space until needed, even though the OS knows the full size of the file (file properties show size as full size, size on disk is what you've downloaded)
DreadWingKnight Posted August 14, 2008 Report Posted August 14, 2008 Pre-allocate and sparse are mutually exclusive, with pre-allocate having dominance.
Mars Posted August 14, 2008 Author Report Posted August 14, 2008 I think I still don't get it. May someone tell me what to do to change it?
