First make sure the above software is properly installed.

See the following websites for help about that because I'm not gonna cover it here:

http://www.utorrent.com

http://httpd.apache.org/

http://www.php.net/

As to users seeing all files. Did you disable both Show All Torrents and Show Unclaimed Torrents for all those users?

From query = shell_file=&token=0BgoU7K0WSYjquAC76cya6XrCygr_LVzhWJNNOfT68q6iZFVSMclN_KxjUk=&action=add-url&s=http%3A//isohunt.com/download/57250261/mp3.torrent&t=1234022881606

Maybe corrupt table in the database... Rename sql_users.dat to sql_users.dat.bak and see if you can get things working again.

(Yes it will reset all your settings but we need to know. And you can always delete the new sql_users.dat and rename the original back if it wasn't the problem.)

For IM drop by on IRC. But I don't have a lot of time. I usually reply here between other activities.

I'm also on ubuntu but version 8.06 I believe.

Could you help in telling me where I would find the files I need to edit in linux? I would really appreciate it...

Edit: Also in the screenshot I cant see the feature but I thought i'd ask. Can you limit the amount of space used per user?

Sure the file you will want to edit are under:

/etc/apache2/sites-available/

and the file name is likely to be called default

this however depends if you have changed/created other sites.

add the same 2 lines of code in the Readme, above DocumentRoot <location>

(<location> is likely to be /var/www)

If you need it in a better tutorial version (with commands to use etc) I can do so, but wont be immediate

EDIT: atm no, but that would be a useful feature

The best thing about linux however is that if the ability to choose what folder items goto from the WebUI (ie and then allow the multi user shell to facilitate that and place different users downloads in different folders) then under linux you can set those folders to have restrictions on size (either by partition or some other method) and it would then be easily implemented. (and partitions under linux can be located in a middle of a folder tree)

Quota's are in the works (will be in 0.5.0).

Please note that it will be "max combined torrentsize" though. If you allow users to remove a torrent without removing the data they can still claim more GB of diskspace because the data of removed torrents won't count. If you want to limit the amount of HD space they actually use you either disable the Remove option in the Webui Shell or you have to use the quota features of the OS itself.
