Error Message

Hi I hope someone can help me out. I have been getting an error message continuously when I try to download files. It says "error - the process cannot access the file because it is being used by another process" and then then a little red X apperas beside the download. I can force start it again and it will download for another 5-10 min before I get the same message again. I don't know what to do about it. I had utorrent installed and had the same issue, I just removed it and installed this version and still the same problem.

Can someone please help.

Hostile software is attacking the files uTorrent is trying to use...locking them so uTorrent cannot read them or at least cannot write to them. Not anything uTorrent can do about it.

You must find the hostile software and stop it before it causes more damage!

Now I see there is Roxio in there, how do I remove it? I found where the file is, do I simply delete it? or can I just kill the process somehow or block uTorrent from seing it? Any instruction would be helpful. I tried to do my homework and fix myself but I couldnt figure out how to fix once I got to this step. Thanks in advance.

You should be able to disable the service by start > run > services.msc

You should be able to remove/configure it through the roxio media control panel... from the systray?

How do you post one of those logs like the other guy did. I do have Nero on my pc but it is not open or anything. I used to have Roxio - it has been uninstalled and I have tried to delete all the program files but a few say that they can't be deleted. Sorry I don't know a lot about pc's so any hekp would be great.

I am also having the same problem. I dont have Nero but I have Roxio 10 on my comp. I was trying to read the other threads on this thread to figure out what to do but i am having a bit of trouble understanding. Can you explain what to do so utorrent doesnt tell me another process is going on?

I was having this same problem and have discovered that the culprit in my case is my TiVo desktop software. I was watching via Process Explorer and each time the TiVo transcoding service kicks in it interferes with the utorrent download. Fixing the problem should be just a case of downloading to a location not watched by your TiVo software such as your desktop then move the file when completed.
