I've themed my whole system around the GANT icons, so I decided to mess with one of the generic shape icons to make it work for µTorrent.

Nice. But how do I change the appearance of a .torrent-file?

in any folder, Tools -> Folder Options.. -> File Types

scroll down to .torrent and click Advanced, then Change Icon.. and browse to your new icon.

simple (? ) as that!

but..the utorrent main icon is not not changed..

I mean..I can see it change in the torrent files..and the tray..the utorrent main icon the you double click to open utorrent...not change...do you have any clue?

that should just be a shortcut, you should be able to change the icon to whatever you want.

I ment that...you open the website of utorrent..and download the exe file...this one is not not changed...so..can it be changed or not?...and if you think you have the solution of changing it..tell..
