My client says it can't connect to utorrent update server. What can I do?

Is there an IP I need to allow past my firewall?

Does anyone here know it?

I've looked again at the firewalls settings (normal windows) and that allows exceptions for programmes from a list of those installed. Internet options allows exceptions for sites. I'm not sure how to add what you suggest. Sorry for being dim.

I've been running utorrent happily for over a year but it's the first time I've checked for updates and that's the only thing that's giving me problems. Utorrent itself is going through the firewall quite happily. i'm not running AV so nothing to stop things there.

Unless you use some crazy restrictive blocklists on it you should be fine. the standard p2p blocklists do not block utorrent from updating.

Yes I have peerguardian, but at the mo it's blocking 0 IP's so maybe a similar problem with that too? Certainly no icon flashing when I try to update utorrent.

Just tried again. Still getting "unable to contact utorrent update server"

I suppose there's no problem with the site?

I've disabled it and allowed http. It won't remove while it's running and I can't see how to stop it running.

I realise this sounds pathetic.
