Everytime I start it, it woks fine for about 30 second then it freezes (not responding). I've tried desinstalling and reinstalling with no changes. What should i do? Then try to lower the up speed and you got a frozen program.When I encounter this, I actually feel like µtorrent is in truth some piece of crapware where useless things get added every new version. Firon Posted January 25, 2011 Report Share Posted January 25, 2011 Yes, we're aware of it, just can't consistently reproduce the problem. It only happens on Windows 7 x64, and it looks like it's the same socket hang bug in Windows that we've been trying to work around for a while. ajones81 Posted March 1, 2011 Report Share Posted March 1, 2011 Windows 7 SP1 will probably fix it completely, but until then, we're trying to find other workarounds.Just switched to Win 7 SP1 x64 and this has hit me hard now and is irritating the heck out of me. When you said hoped that SP1 would fix it completely, did you mean that it is entirely the fault of Windows and not the app itself? Repeated hangs on speed limit change and the log filled with hang reports are making the app useless for me now, which is a real shame. I'm still at 2.04 b22967, so do any of the 2.2 builds or later solve this issue? If so, please do let me know, 'cos otherwise I'll have to start iterating backwards in the hope that one of the older versions can maybe help, which is something I really don't want to do. eus en nog wat Posted March 1, 2011 Report Share Posted March 1, 2011 I have a comparable problem with the last 2 beta versions (2.2.1 build 24908) My system uses windows xp.after a couple of hours I hear a windows "boink" and then the screen freezes, mostly it turns blank, always the pointer turns into a sandlooper. utorrent creates no .dmp file when this happens.I reported it by email with the hijack and the other thingy file.Is there a way to go back 2 versions without loosing the client's torrents?Or is there a new version the the make where that aims to solve this problem. Not running it as admin and with lots of torrents loaded (and quite a few running), try changing the speed limits via the status bar context menu. In my case 9 times out of 10 it freezes instantly (whole app fades out, wait cursor etc.) and stays that way for 30s or so, then sends a bunch of hung/unhung reports as per the log. If 2.2.1 has really solved this, I'll switch as soon as the final release is rolled out (or maybe even earlier, since while I don't run betas/RCs, this issue is very irritating).
