Upgrading from uTorrent 3.3 Stable Build 29609 to Stable 29625

Hi,

I decided to take the plunge and upgrade from one Stable build (29609 to 29625) to the next. Everything went okay, it seam like everything works. Then I tried to log on to http://remote.utorrent.com and I couldn't connect. Then I went to my Preferences > Remote and tried to log in and all I get is it's trying to reconnect. I've been using the same computer name and password for years now, now I have this problem. I do have webui enabled, and also in my %AppData%/uTorrent/ directory (webui.zip). I've copied this from my log file if it helps anyone with my problem:

[2013-05-04 21:48:33] Disconnected from WebUI proxy service

[2013-05-04 21:48:49] Error contacting WebUI proxy service: Proxy connect error: hostname not found

[2013-05-04 21:48:49] Disconnected from WebUI proxy service

[2013-05-04 21:48:54] Disconnected from WebUI proxy service

I would appreciate any and all help with this minor problem.

Thank You.

If you change the computer name and password does it connect then?

What is the status showing on Preferences -> Remote?

Yes, I understand that. I always keep my computer name Logopolis-PC the same and I always keep my remote logon password the same as my logon to Windows 7 SP1. I just attempted to logon to the remote.utorrent.com site and again, and I was unable to logon, then I did the same thing with uTorrent, and again I was unable to logon. Here is last part of the log file:

From what I see, remote doesn't find my computer name Logopolis-PC. Is there a way to get this fixed?

Thank You. :)

BTW, uTorrent tells me that Status: Reconnecting in 60 seconds...

and when it gets down to 0 It says: Connecting

Then it tells me Not Accessible

Like I said before, my WebUS works with no problem. I know that because I'm able to connect Mozilla Firefox 21.0 beta, using the addon uTorrent Status 1.0. I able to logon with WebUI. Maybe the developers forgot something?

Thank You.

The problem is in the DNS servers you use or your settings, not in anything on this side.

If you're using proxy settings, remote won't work. Period.

Thank you DreadWingKnight! :) I had my Proxy Server set to HTTP, if you want to use remote.utorrent, you shouldn't have anything in your proxy server settings. This is for anyone else who might have similar problems.

Thank You.

One last note. On the Left hand side of uTorrent, you have the Side Bar telling you what your torrent are doing. I have a total of 11 torrents:

Torrents (11)

Downloading (6)

Seeding (0)

Completed (5)

Active (6)

Inactive (5)

Now, usually, when you clicked on one of the above, it only showed you the torrents that you selected. I select Torrents, and it shows me all of them (normal), click on Downloading, it shows all of them (not normal), click on Seeding, it shows all of them (not normal), it's only suppose to only show you what torrents are seeding, and in my case, no torrents should be shown.

Now, is this a bug I found, or is my settings again? I doubt if it's my settings, unless someone can tell me how to get them back again.

Thank You.

Thank you ciaobaby, you didn't even have to think about it. I was going to make the thing about the Getting Started thing another topic. The developers knew about that in February 2013, it's now May 2013. You would think that they solved that problem. I give up about trying to figure out what they are doing to uTorrent. It's a very small program, how many people are working on this project? I'm guessing that its a non profit program, except the Plus version.

Again, Thank You, you must have known the next problem I was having. :)

Guess what ? none of the above versions are STABLE, they are full of memory leaks, here is an example: last night i left the pc on then when i check this morning my ram was 600+ over the normal, idle mode (i know everything inside out, which process/service gets more juice) so i check the task manager, as usual windows 7 (64b) is flawed with showing real memory used by tskm (obsolete win api devs at it's best) or even rsm. so i do this to find out the difference in memory swallowed by utorrent. I close the the program, suddenly my memory goes from 1.75GB to 1.08GB used.

Problem? Ofc there is a problem: FIX your damn "stable" release with no memory leaks for gods sake? I had no problem with older versions, but again why the heck would i go to an older version?I like improvements but not with big issues like this. And the latest "stable release 29625 build as u call it, u can even recreate this situation very simple, download or upload something, at least 20-30 minutes and u'll see what im talking about !

Also i DO NOT have turned on the "override automatic cache size..." from disk cache options, IF u r trying to say that's the problem.

@dreadwingknight, it is not "visible" because of windows but graphichs dont lie man ! As soon as i close utorrent process, the memory is back to normal levels ( 25 MB average the process is showing in task manager) with over 600+ megs of free ram.
