FulwoodSedge Posted June 4, 2008 Report Share Posted June 4, 2008 hiI recently upgraded to the beat 1.8 and i start to download a file (as you do!),after around 50% it started showing the above error message in both the bottom right on my screen (above the clock and all that) and also in the column where it says downloading, queueing or anything like that. I tried to find a solution on the internet and on here but i couldn't find anything that worked at all! In the end i decided to go back to the old version (1.7.7) and then the problem was no more - since i went back to the old version i have been able to download anything!If you know of a solution how to fix this please inform me Many thanksFulwoodSedge Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

darkfiber Posted August 17, 2008 Report Share Posted August 17, 2008 I am using version 1.8 (build 11813) on Windows XP Pro. I have been using uTorrent for quite some time, but for some reason today I am getting a rash of "handle is invalid" errors from a few of my torrents I am downloading. I will get the message and if I hit "start" the torrent will continue to download but then give that error again. I haven't seen anything like this before. 2 of the torrents giving the error are from 2 different trackers. darkfiber Posted August 18, 2008 Report Share Posted August 18, 2008 Ok I installed it and the error says...Error: The process cannot access the file because it is being used by another process.Which is puzzling because I have had other torrents complete just fine in the past day or two that downloaded just fine. darkfiber Posted August 18, 2008 Report Share Posted August 18, 2008 No. The only Nero process I see running is for Nero Backitup (and I didn't even know I was running that until I searched for it.) 2 of the 3 torrents completed eventually. The 3rd is still downloading but hasn't thrown that error in a while.It might have been Windows Media Connect (which is used to stream media to my XBOX 360). That program was using that folder. Although it has been using that folder for a while now and never before have I gotten that error. Plus other torrents I have downloaded in the past few days also haven't given me that error.weird. Unfortunately the last of the 3 problem torrents finished without any more errors before I could run Unlocker.What does the Nero indexing service do, and do I need it? If not, How do I disable it?
