uTorrent always checks files

Well, I've read through a lot of posts with this problem and tried quite a few things. Here's what I know isn't causing the problem: drive fragmentation 0%, hasty shutdown/exit (I always close uTorrent and let the process terminate on it's own). Now here are some things it could be: possibly running in PIO mode (I have no way of checking or configuring it through device manager as it is running off a PCI control card, which could be the problem in and of itself), possibly a process problem. Well, hopefully someone will have a solid answer or atleast some good input. This is driving me nuts. Oh, if I pause or stop the torrents before exiting, I have no problems. However, this isn't always an option for me since my roommates son likes to use my computer as well. I know he closes uTorrent properly though because I impressed the importance on him and he's actually a pretty computer savvy kid.

Are you using an external HD for your data ?

It is not an external. It is an internal SATA 150 drive, connected to a PCI SATA control card. I have the most recent drivers for the controler, but no way of checking/configuring PIO/DMA modes.

How do I stop those dlls from loading with uTorrent? Bonjour really seems like it serves no purpose and I'm a little miffed to even see that it's running, I don't have any Apple software other than Quick Time installed and I've disabled the bonjour service. The camera helper is for my webcam, I don't really use it that often, so I wouldn't have any problem with it simply going away.

As far as the resume file is concerned, I know that it can be written since stopping or pausing the active torrents before exiting eliminates the problem. Other than that I'm stumped. It seems like the problem just popped up lately too (within the last 2 updates of uTorrent), but that could be almost anything from a new ut version to a Windows update, or simply odd timing.

Oh, almost forgot, bt.graceful_shutdown is already on.

Not sure these DLL are the culprits because many users have these DLLs in their logs that they posted here and don't have some problems.

So, even with graceful shutdown turned on, closing µTorrent manually still results in all your files being rechecked?

Ok, here are some things I've noticed, with graceful shutdown on or off, my files are still rechecked unless I pause/stop the torrent prior to exiting and wait for my dl/ul to reach extremely low speeds (under 2 kbps). Also, I just noticed I'm getting the Disk overload 100% message at the bottom of my uT window. I checked the disk fragmentation and it's very low (under 2%) so I doubt that's the problem. I think I'll try changing my download location to a drive that isn't connected via a PCI control card and see if that helps my problem. If my controler is stuck in PIO mode, or if it just doesn't support disk buffering/cache that could be causing me problems. I'll post again later to let you know the results.

Ok, well it looks like that fixed my problem. I guess I just won't download to that drive anymore, or I'll move it from the PCI controler to the mainboard connector. It seems kinda lame that my SATA 150 isn't buffering properly though, but I can safely blame an inexpensive controler for that. Let that be a lesson to us all, cheap means cheap in price and quality. Oh well.
