Badsecurityforum
... whenever utorrent has to check several GB of torrents my computer becomes unusable. My PC is not brand new, but it isn't slow either with a C2D E6300, 6 GB RAM and a fast 750GB HDD. I never have any performance issues with it. The thing is that utorrent chomps through the data with 60-70 MB/s and doesn't give other programs any time to breath.Even lowering the task priority doesn't help. It would be nice if there is a way to limit the resource utorrent uses.PS: My computer is perfectly stable, but occasionally the power goes out. Switeck
Other apps that are deep-linking into uTorrent may be making the problem even worse.
Ultima
There are plans to implement support for prioritized I/O in µTorrent, which came as a part of Windows Vista. The idea is that µTorrent's disk I/O should be relegated to low (or very low) priority, so that it won't choke up other applications that require I/O.
