masca90020
What's that have to do with mini hangs in the UI ? I think I'll go back to 2.2.1. The "pre-allocate all files" option is also broken.
DreadWingKnight
They could be caused by issues in other subsystems. And "going back to 2.2.1" will NOT solve the problems.
masca90020
As I said, if the "Disable Windows caching of disk writes" is checked, the mini hangs are gone, but then I can't download, because my speed does not go over 1 mb/s. This issues are caused by the subsystem called bloatware that came since the 3.0 version. Pre-allocate all files does nothing. At least in 2.2.1 I won't have any useless things and all the things work as it should.
DreadWingKnight
This issues are caused by the subsystem called bloatware that came since the 3.0 version. Prove it.Also, if you still have stardock installed, that may be the real cause of your mini-hangs.
masca90020
Yeah, I don't have any stardock. It's a clean windows, installed a couple of days ago. I don't use stardock or other eye candy software And the RSS feature being broken is also from stardock software ? The pre-allocate all files option broken is from stardock software too ? I never had a hang with utorrent in my life. Only with 3.1. And I'm not the only one complaining about this. But you, the developers, instead of fixing them, you stand here and say "Prove it". Great attitude.

Great attitude.Pre-allocate works fine for me, and I can download at about 7mbyte/s (internet can't go faster). Were you running some of the older 3.1s? I recommend making sure sparse files is turned off.
masca90020
Thanks, Firon. I appreciate your answer. Sparse files was on because I had disk overloaded issues without it. Forgot to turn it off. LE: The RSS issue is fixed, thanks for that. The disk overloaded issue is fixed, I see. I didn't have any 3.1 previous to 26595. rafi
New 3.1 build up with several fixes, including fixed RSS.Let me see: did this "test" feed, that was posted (and sent) works for you ?http://rss.thepiratebay.org/208Because, I get nothing from it over here Might be that they have changed something at the feed's web siteEdit: http://rss.thepiratebay.org/205 seems OK, I guess that are no more HD shows on this RSS feed today... masca90020
Now I have another issue, one that was solved until this last build: As you can see, utorrent returned to be a resource hog. I did everything that I thought of. Until this last build, it was normal.Picture order: disk statistics - utorrent on and downloading - utorrent off
rafi
You've probably also forgot to exclude the new version from your AV
masca90020
I have Microsoft Security Essentials. I never had any issue with any uTorrent until 3.x. I went back to 2.2.1, same download speeds ( same file ) and it's like it's not even there. If it was from the AV, it should have done the same with all of them. DreadWingKnight
Except that a lot of internet security software packages (MSE included) do per-VERSION rules as well as per-program.
masca90020
Ok, I'll do this too and report back.LE: Excluded in the AV and it's the same. The higher the speed, the higher the RAM taken.

masca90020
I think that my problem above is due to utorrent not handling the cache options as it should. It does not disable windows caching. This behavior was present in the first 3-4 builds from version 3.0.

Freddo
After torrent has downloaded, torrent states gets stuck at "Flushing to disk(432)". On exiting and restarting utorrent, torrent is checked to 99.something% and then entire torrent is downloaded again.

masca90020
So, I found the RAM hog culprit. This setting: When it's checked, everything is fine. When it's unchecked, it takes up all my RAM, regardless of my "override cache size" setting and I can't upload with more than 1 mb/s. This is a real dilemma here, for me, at least, because I have a 100 mbps connection. So, the problem isn't from Stardock, AV or any other thing. masca90020
I also figured out the cause for mini hangs: RSS. As long as I don't have any feeds, there's no hang at utorrent startup. If I add my rss.dat, then all hell breaks loose and I have mini hangs.
