maku8ex
after staying on the i'net for ~3hrs i always get this sickening msg:-wat causes this? is there any remedy?...or am i doomed to reformatting? thnx in advanceEDIT: its xp sp2
silverfire
I don't get why people think reformatting is such a bad thing... I reformat once per six months on a schedule just so I keep my computer nice and clean. Some people might say that it's a bit excessive, but it's just like getting your car's oil changed =\
Determination
I do the same thing Silverfire.
dAbReAkA
back when i was using win98 i used to reformat each week or month(in the best case)i havent done that for almost 3 years now i reinstall windows every 5-8 months instead btwi just saw other people complaining about this on another forum.. actually the thread was open (on the other forum) on the 14th of august.. and people complaining there said that nothing helped (even reformating).. it may be related to this - it's similar to msblast (2003)

WebReaper
Every 6 months? Try 'weeks'. I've got to re-install in the next couple'a weeks, 'cos that WGA stuff is starting to get on my tits now.
dAbReAkA
maku8ex, u wont be able to open it and it's not in bulgarian so u wont understand it what i suggest u to try is:1. download the new updates (u may download autopatcher XP)2. unplug the network cable3. reinstall windows4. apply the updates (or autopatcher XP)5. plug the cable6. if that was the problem, then enjoy..WebReaper, u mean WGA notification, or WGA validation? i dont install the WGA validation update and i patch the other one so i have no probs

Game90
it sounds like a virus to me. i had this problem before, and it was caused by a virus trying to close something all the time.

Firon
I only re-install when I wanna try out new nLite stuff. I never 'need' to. I've had this install for about a year now.
Ultima
Same here, only I try nLiting stuff, and then give up mid-way. Don't know, I just lose interest, and end up installing, then optimizing. Probably not as good a result, but it's easy enough for me anyway
ashwin100
Yeah I accidently installed that WGA update WebReaper aswell, but I found some patch thing (googled it) which got rid of it.
Ultima
Probably RemoveWGA. I never installed WGA, and had the Automatic Updates service disabled, so they never sneaked it into my computer xD
WebReaper
Stupid thing is, I have a licence for XP (well, several - through work, through my MSDN subs, plus a couple of legit copies kicking around the house). The only reason I've got the WGA crap at all is because I'm using a licence from 'the old days' because I've not re-installed for a while...
