durerca
The last version of µTorrent added some more hotkeys but I was wondering if it would be possible to add one more for the Hide option.
Ultima
Hide? To tray? If that's the case, just set µTorrent to close to tray, and Alt+F4 becomes your hotkey =P@Firon: Hah beat you by 18 seconds! lol no more comparing, let's not let this turn into some speed-posting contest xD
Firon
Alt F4 to close the window?edit: we seem to respond to everything at almost the same time..
marcusg
This feature is found in BitComet, it called the "BOSS KEY". In Bitcomet, you press Alt + [`] and the whole program disappears from the taskbar and system tray. This is so that snooping bosses who love to scan the system tray will not see it. You can only see it by the Task Manager [Alt+Ctrl+Del].I'm all for this feature coz i download alot of "sensitive" torrents... :-)
silverfire
This might be more useful than having it put into µTorrent:http://computer.virgilio.it/Downloads/PC/Desktop/Gestione_Desktop/105852.contentIt used to be on download.com and other sites, but it's mysteriously vanished.I use that program to keep screens out of sight. Firon
So don't? Or just set Windows to "Always hide" for uTorrent.
Huck
1. Alt+F4 is not a hot key. It's a yoga exercise.2. The hotkey should be customizable.
1c3d0g
Let me remind everyone that having some questionable programs on your work PC (which are not welcomed by your boss) will just lead to trouble...you can even lose your job in some cases. If you can't afford that, just don't do it.
silverfire
Huck, the program that I linked to allows for you to set whatever key you want as the hide key.
Ultima
I don't see why any hotkeys should be customizable in a BitTorrent client... You're not going to be navigating it like you do a browser or music player. It should be a quick add torrent, remove torrent, change torrent status, or a simple setting change. Adding a new hotkey for this seems a little redundant (I don't know... just my opinion =P)Also, Alt+F4 isn't that hard to press... is it? I put my left thumb on the left Alt, and my left middle finger on the F4. Not so "yoga," and not so straining on the hand either.

Huck
I don't see why any hotkeys should be customizable in a BitTorrent client...I personally think that hotkeys should be customizable in every program. Also, Alt+F4 isn't that hard to press... is it? I put my left thumb on the left Alt, and my left middle finger on the F4.1. I just don't think this is comfortable. 2. Since the subject is hide/show the hotkey supposed to be global. HCLivess
I have a siple solution for you if you want to hide your uTorrent icon permanently. Go to man panel, right click, choose properties, main panel, customize... and choose which icons you want to show or hide and when
Belzebooth
Could the Boss Key also remove the process from task manager? Just in case yout boss is more persistent (mine is).
Firon
That's rootkit-level stuff, not such a great idea. :/
1c3d0g
No way that I know of, unless you make it as a rootkit-like program... /me hides from the paranoid squad...

StoicJester
Huck, the program that I linked to allows for you to set whatever key you want as the hide key.i tried it, but it doesn't hide anything in the systray, just the window, so it wouldn't work for this. drkp
Why you dont't include a automatic hidden option to utorrent, something as automatic boss-key presed when windows starts, because sometimes other people start my pc, and close my utorrent and i hate it.
