PlayWithFire
This is one feature i would love to have. I'd love to be able to somehow be able to send a torrent from any computer to my home computer so it would start downloading it. Azureus had the web-server, but that's too clunky, and i don't really need to have that much stuff running in the background. One of the ways i thought about doing it is maybe e-mailing the .torrent file to myself, and then have some software at home check my e-mail every 30 minutes. If it finds a new one, download it, and dump it into a specific directory. µTorrent can just get it from there, i know about that feature. Is there anything like that avalible? It just occured to me, that i could try the gmail drive windows application. Not sure if µTorrent can look in there though. Has anyone tried that? NiteShdw
μTorrent can monitor a folder on your computer for new torrents. If you set up an FTP server or some other shared folder you could put a new .torrent file into that folder and μTorrent will automatically start downloading. PlayWithFire
hmm, i haven't thought about setting up and FTP server at homeTwo things worry me about doing this:1. Security2. I have Comcast, so my IP is not static. But, i guess i can read up on security. I am not sure how to overcome the second one.
DomZ
You could get one of them auto-update dyndns url things. haha sorry but I don't know the correct technical term, try googling for "dyndns"
NiteShdw
Some routers even have built-in support for dynamic IP services like dyndns.org or no-ip.org. For security, just open 1 port, and set your FTP server on a non-standard FTP port. Make sure you disable 'anonymous' access and use a strong password on your account. abbad0n
Could try using SSH (PuTTY for the client and OpenSSH for the server) for secure file transfer after you setup your dyndns.
PlayWithFire
well, i got it to worki used a little thing caled netdrive to map my FTP server under a drive letterbut, i think there's a bug in µTorrent. New torrents don't start automatically, I have to restart µTorrent to get that going. Not sure if this is a bug or a feature.
abbad0n
Do you have the option New torrents start in stopped mode checked? Also you'll want to setup Put new downloads in to a place with plenty of drive space.

ColdArmor
.... Do you remember changing any options that would effect this? µT starts downloads automatically by default.
Firon
µTorrent doesn't autoload except on startup.
ColdArmor
µTorrent doesn't autoload except on startup.I was saying that if you add a torrent it will start downloading rather than pausing or stopping.
silverfire
It just occured to me, that i could try the gmail drive windows application. Not sure if µTorrent can look in there though. Has anyone tried that? From what I've tried, I've been unable to map the GMail Drive as an actual drive letter. Windows references it through a namespace extension, and it shows up properly in shortcuts, but I haven't been able to set that as a drive. So far, I've tried using the DOS subst command, net.exe, and using it as a network place. I've also tried setting the reference to the namespace extension as the folder for µTorrent to monitor to no avail. Here's the ID in case anyone else wants to try:::{20D04FE0-3AEA-1069-A2D8-08002B30309D}\::{2B3453E4-49DF-11D3-8229-0080BE509050}From what I understand, that first ID is for 'My Computer', and the second one points to the actual extension. NiteShdw
It seems to me that the problem with auto loading torrents should be listed as a bug. For people that leave the client open for long periods of time, it doesn't make sense to only check the 'auto-load' folder at startup. Perhaps a customizable timer could be added to check the folder every x minutes.
PlayWithFire
i would list it, but to be honest, i am way too lazy to go and read how to write a bug report. Someone oughta do it though, so this gets fixed in the next release.
