PigBrother
I'm wondering why a client doesn't have this option. For example, µtorrent: great client, in fact the best client I ever tried. But I'm stuck with BitComet too due some nazi sysop who allows, for example, only BitComet on their trackers. Yes, it happens So how bad is to integrate a "identify as BitComet" or "identify as Azureus" options? Because I don't see anything bad.
Animorc
Faking is always bad and will get µTorrent banned.I'm sure there's a reason for allowing BitComet only on that tracker.
PigBrother
I cannot think about something BitComet can and Azureus or µtorrent or any other good client can't. Do you? BTW, if a client emulate another client, you cannot ban it, isn't ?You don't leech, you don't steal, you don't fake ratio... You just want to use your client. FFS, µtorrent is the only client able to run without ruin your gameplay on the same machine.

ColdArmor
Sooner or later they are going to find out your faking & then you'll get banned.
1c3d0g
Yeah, faking ID = bad for everyone, no matter how you slice it.
dcorban
Faking is always bad and will get µTorrent banned.I find this a rather strange statement. If the client is telling the tracker is it BitComet, how would the tracker know it is really µTorrent to ban it?Heh.
Firon
Don't BitComet, G3, and BitSpirit support faking natively?
SledgeDG
It's called common sense...you don't reallt think it would stay a secret if there was some build in fake ability...and then your client will be banned faster than you imagineFake is bad..just believe it-DG
Firon
Banning a client that can fake it's ID is so useless it's not even funny
Animorc
lol. Yeah, you're right about that. I still don't think it should be implemented though.
