KingArthur
how do i find out if i got a router?
DutchDude
Your wireless modem probably includes a router.... but this is not important.... you problem is most likely caused by an enabled Firewall on your modem, or even an software firewall on your PC (ZoneAlarm or the likes).Check if your router has the ports you specified in uTorrent open (check Port Forwarding within the router, but it may be completely different name depending on the router). Just check on the modem/router wehere you can open-up Local IP's combined with Ports. Next disable your PC firewall... if applicable.... then test again
stevvi
If you're sharing a connection via ICS then you'll have to configure the dialup on the computer with the modem to forward the port to you IP address/computer name.
Animorc
To check if you're behind a router:Start -> Run -> "command" -> [Enter]"ipconfig" -> [Enter]Check the IP Address. If it's 192.168.xxx.xxx you're behind a router.
KingArthur
i dont have a modem or a router. i have a networkadapter card in my comp that is coneccted to an antenna on the roof. i use winxp sp2 firewalland in there i added the tcp and udp and the programMerged Post(s):if i run the ipconfig i get 193.68 xx.xxEDIT by silverfire: Please do not double post. DutchDude
The 'gateway' value (probably 193.68.1.1) is the value you are looking for.... enter it in the webbrowser (http://193.68.1.1).... it should bring you into the modem/router. Look in the different sections for Port Forwarding (or anything that allows you to enter an IP address and a Port....)
KingArthur
the gateway is 193.68.48
DutchDude
Start Internet Explorer and type in the address bar: http://193.68.48.94It should bring up your modem....EDIT by silverfire: Please do not quote posts directly before yours. DutchDude
Please check your modem manuals for more info..... how you should enter it..... and where to find the settings... the webbrowser assumes port 80... but your modem might want a diffrent port for administration....I can't really tell what that port is.... but all you need to know (including default password and username) should be listed in the manual of the modem/router..... (or are you using telephone dial-up instead of ADSL/CABLE ?)
KingArthur
its a wireless system dont have modem or router. the system is caled ethernet adapter wireless network connection, the pc has a card that conects to an antenna on the roof, there is nothing else. its 512/128kb/s
stevvi
So, you're connecting wirelessly to soneone else's network? Or do you have an ISP? If it's the former then there's no way you'll get connectable or rid of the NAT error... unless you try enabling UPnP in UT.
boo
stevvi, I think he means he has a satellite internet connection
1c3d0g
Then you're fucked I guess...since your ISP is the one who's probably got control over port forwarding etc. :|
DutchDude
yepz..... silly old me... i too am using wireless.... wireless in my case is 54G standard connected through ADSL......... no experience with sattelite....By best guess.... you're fucked if you cannot access the gateway.... especially if it is under the control of your ISP..... without opening a port there is no way you can set-up a 2-way initiatable connection.... stevvi
stevvi, I think he means he has a satellite internet connection Aaah... far too hi-tech for me! I assumed he was doing what quite a few American friends of mine do and jumping on some unencrypted network from the guy next door.
