eonaxes Posted June 3, 2008 Report Posted June 3, 2008 as the title says, when I do this for a torrent, it removes it from the program but doesnt delete the torrentI also do NOT have the store torrents options selectedany ideas why this is happening? thanks
DreadWingKnight Posted June 3, 2008 Report Posted June 3, 2008 Which .torrent are you expecting it to delete?
jewelisheaven Posted June 3, 2008 Report Posted June 3, 2008 you have to store torrents for uT to run. As the FAQ says, uT uses two locations for storage of .DAT files and .TORRENTs either %APPDATA%\uTorrent or the local directory...
Firon Posted June 3, 2008 Report Posted June 3, 2008 .torrent files are removed from utorrent's own storage folder. Not anywhere else.
wscientist Posted June 13, 2008 Report Posted June 13, 2008 Hello!I've noticed that the latest betas of version 1.8 doesn't delete mine .torrent files located in the %AppData%\uTorrent folder after selecting Remove -> Delete .torrent. I just can't understand, is this a bug or is not? The files are deleted only if they are not Read-only. But by default they are Read-only. I open the files directly from Firefox with open-with function. I have not selected storage folder in Preferences. The only modification is that the gui.delete_to_trash is set to *false. OS: Windows Vista SP1 32bitFirefox 3.0 RC3uTorrent 1.8 Beta Build 10843
GTHK Posted June 13, 2008 Report Posted June 13, 2008 I have noticed and mentioned this as well. This only happens in Fx 3.0 however, 2.0 doesn't create read-onlys. Try leaving feedback with Mozilla.
Ryan Norton Posted July 11, 2008 Report Posted July 11, 2008 Hello!I've noticed that the latest betas of version 1.8 doesn't delete mine .torrent files located in the %AppData%\uTorrent folder after selecting Remove -> Delete .torrent. OS: Windows Vista SP1 32bitFirefox 3.0 RC3uTorrent 1.8 Beta Build 10843I apologize for being dense but how is the .torrent being saved from FF3 that it becomes read-only?For example, what are the steps involved?
GTHK Posted July 12, 2008 Report Posted July 12, 2008 It's when it's opened from Firefox, to µTorrent. With Open with: µTorrent.exe selected you press ok: With Firefox 2, the .torrent is fine, with Firefox 3, it's read-only. If µTorrent copys the file with all the flags set from %temp%, then Firefox 3 must be setting the file read-only. Checking my %temp% folder reveals a .torrent with read-only set, I just used Open with on this one.
