ciaobaby
3.4.28577 forced shutdown recovery failing and trashing completed jobs.Resets some jobs to zero but retains previous download stats.Top two jobs in image, one was from a AV update reboot, second was from a deliberate power cycle to verify occurrence - backups taken before the deliberate one. rafi
µTorrent 3.4 alpha (build 28659) upload limit fixed it works.A new "fix"? Haven't they already fix it a couple of build ago?edit: I guess it was in 3.3 ... that one didn't yet fix the issue of overhead breaking it... ciaobaby
3.4.28604 Windows 7 Ultimate SP1 32bit.Shows notification of new version available --- then apparently does nothing at all with respect to download and updating.
ciaobaby
However 14 minutes later; So it seems that it failed to close the client before attempting the update and/or restart.
ciaobaby
3.4.28659Who Hoo!Magnets populating add dialogue in less than two minutes AND not waiting for dialogue population before adding the DOES finally, correctly load the metada in client. That's probably been THE most frustrating problem for several versions now (for me at least)
BMW-X7
auto update feature is good but problem is when new update available it automatically download update then message comes new update available please shut down utorrent.it will be better if the utorrent update works like firefox update.when utorrent update available then message will be come a new update available then after download updates client automatically shutdown and restart again automatically.not like that user will shut down the client
ciaobaby
Yep.What is the point of3.4.28462 Installer sets executable path to %appdata%/utorrent instead of %programfiles%/utorrentInstaller does not offer option to change default installation location.Yes' date=' that's the whole reason for 3.4. Can't be installed in Program Files to do autoupdates without UAC.[/quote']If the update system doesn't actually work??? AND has to be shut down and restarted manually.3.1 & 3.2 updates worked perfectly ok once the UAC had been Ok'ed by the users. All that happened then was that some of the jobs needed an automatic reset on the client restart. Why has "If it ain't broke,... Don't fix it" become "If it ain't broke, .... fix it 'til it is"! Ryrynz
is 3.4 only ever going to be a test build? Seems a little pointless in releasing 3.4 unless other features make their way in many of the fixes would appear to be 3.3 related. You should update 3.3 to include auto updating (there doesn't seem to be any major issues with it from what I see) While on the topic of 3.3, it could probably hit a beta phase about now. rafi
While on the topic of 3.3, it could probably hit a beta phase about now.None can be 'promoted' to beta with the still partly broken upload limiter/scheme, and not-fully tested new I/O system. Ryrynz
Surely the limiter ain't a seriously hard thing to fix as for the not-fully tested IO system It's been 7 months, surely it would have received some sort of testing beforehand.. Although we are talking BitTorrent inc here.. =/
rafi
surely it would have received some sort of testing beforehand.. Yeah, surly. *we*'ll be testing it before it'll be released...
