µTorrent 1.1.8.0 ??? (w/Pic)

I'm a bit stumped. The announcement says µTorrent 1.1.7.2 is the latest release.

Some kind of beta test, maybe?

Although I must admit i got the screenshot while using a tracker that is in beta stage itself, so it might be possible it is just a glitch =) . Who knows, maybe the new version comes earlier than we've expected. That'd be realy sweet.

Yeah, it's an alpha version that wasn't supposed to be leaked...however someone without a spine leaked it anyway. The developers are actively working to make 1.1.8 final, so just hang in there. It'll be released when it's done.

that is 1.1.8.rc1, which isn't for public distrobution, but it got leaked.

Why not just use RC1 or the beta if it has fixes that 1.1.7.2 doesn't have? I relize it is for testing and I think it is a DAMN shame that is got leaked from such a small (relativily) community, but why not?

the latest update on when DHT support will be added, vurlix said it is 95% complete, but after its complete, it needs allot of testing, so it would be released in 1.2.

Last night I downloaded a few freshly released torrents (with non-functional trackers, too!) and DHT worked pretty damn well, getting ~300 peers quickly.

I didn't think 1.1.8 had DHT, but I have only seen the 1.1.8 build 307 and people rumor about a 1.1.8 build 314

Yeah, although that's true, peeps get tired when everyone is asking "when is the next version coming?", "can I be a Beta tester please?" and those types of questions all the time.

Anyway, the Beta testing is now done in a closed group thanks to the bastard that leaked it.

Have they been open in the past? I haven't been watching here long, but I'd be hard-pressed to think of another downloadable freeware product on the Internet that doesn't have open test versions. It would seem the more eyes looking at it the better.
