NicKK Posted November 7, 2005 Report Posted November 7, 2005 I'm a bit stumped. The announcement says µTorrent 1.1.7.2 is the latest release. Some kind of beta test, maybe?Although I must admit i got the screenshot while using a tracker that is in beta stage itself, so it might be possible it is just a glitch =) . Who knows, maybe the new version comes earlier than we've expected. That'd be realy sweet.
1c3d0g Posted November 7, 2005 Report Posted November 7, 2005 Yeah, it's an alpha version that wasn't supposed to be leaked...however someone without a spine leaked it anyway. The developers are actively working to make 1.1.8 final, so just hang in there. It'll be released when it's done.
boo Posted November 7, 2005 Report Posted November 7, 2005 that is 1.1.8.rc1, which isn't for public distrobution, but it got leaked. µTorrent 1.1.7.2 is the latest public version.
NicKK Posted November 7, 2005 Author Report Posted November 7, 2005 Yeah, but the one i found thru search had no photographic evidence
UTorrentUser Posted November 7, 2005 Report Posted November 7, 2005 Why not just use RC1 or the beta if it has fixes that 1.1.7.2 doesn't have? I relize it is for testing and I think it is a DAMN shame that is got leaked from such a small (relativily) community, but why not?
Ultima Posted November 8, 2005 Report Posted November 8, 2005 lol I think NicKK gets the point by now =P
boo Posted November 8, 2005 Report Posted November 8, 2005 the latest update on when DHT support will be added, vurlix said it is 95% complete, but after its complete, it needs allot of testing, so it would be released in 1.2.
ColdArmor Posted November 8, 2005 Report Posted November 8, 2005 The testers in IRC say its working great and they connect to a lot more.
silverfire Posted November 8, 2005 Report Posted November 8, 2005 Last night I downloaded a few freshly released torrents (with non-functional trackers, too!) and DHT worked pretty damn well, getting ~300 peers quickly.
deeppal Posted November 8, 2005 Report Posted November 8, 2005 Ooo so 1.8 does have some kinda of DHT.Silverfire if u have issues, sort it out...Quoting some text above urs is not the end of the world. If u had time to edit my post, u cd have spent the time replying. I just read the thread that speaks about not quoting. Was just on my way to edit the post but saw u had edited. That was ok and then i had to hear u say u were sick and tired and blah blah. Didnt need to know that.
Trix Posted November 8, 2005 Report Posted November 8, 2005 I didn't think 1.1.8 had DHT, but I have only seen the 1.1.8 build 307 and people rumor about a 1.1.8 build 314
Keloran Posted November 8, 2005 Report Posted November 8, 2005 1.1.8 (build 315) has DHTit is only avalible to accepted testers dont ask to test it//edited becasue people dont understand the frustation of leaks and repeat questions
deeppal Posted November 8, 2005 Report Posted November 8, 2005 Now i know why silverfire didnt reply...zzzzzz
Trix Posted November 8, 2005 Report Posted November 8, 2005 I think there should be open betas, I dont see the damage in doing so. No need to be rude Keloran
deeppal Posted November 8, 2005 Report Posted November 8, 2005 Keloran wasnt being rude. Maybe he sdnt have used caps but he just didnt wanna noobs coming up and asking to test it.
jroc Posted November 8, 2005 Report Posted November 8, 2005 It might be cuz some ass posted the link to the beta on another site. So they might be a lil selective with who gets and tests betas now.
deeppal Posted November 8, 2005 Report Posted November 8, 2005 Yap i think so too. And seriously, the stable releases come so fast anyways.
Trix Posted November 8, 2005 Report Posted November 8, 2005 noob is such a lame term. people need to use real words. there is nothing wrong with asking, as long as you are polite about it.
deeppal Posted November 8, 2005 Report Posted November 8, 2005 Trix if u thought i was referring to u, i seriously wasnt. Anyways i agree with u
Trix Posted November 8, 2005 Report Posted November 8, 2005 glad you agree deeppal, but i do understand the frustration that one must deal with, when asked the same thing 900 times, it is a shame what has to result from that.
1c3d0g Posted November 8, 2005 Report Posted November 8, 2005 noob is such a lame term. people need to use real words. there is nothing wrong with asking, as long as you are polite about it.Yeah, although that's true, peeps get tired when everyone is asking "when is the next version coming?", "can I be a Beta tester please?" and those types of questions all the time. Anyway, the Beta testing is now done in a closed group thanks to the bastard that leaked it.
rseiler Posted November 8, 2005 Report Posted November 8, 2005 I think there should be open betas, I dont see the damage in doing so. No need to be rude KeloranHave they been open in the past? I haven't been watching here long, but I'd be hard-pressed to think of another downloadable freeware product on the Internet that doesn't have open test versions. It would seem the more eyes looking at it the better.
