megsuma 0 Report post Posted October 20, 2008 Hi all, I was wondering what this version of uTorrent sends out as its peer id - I guessed -UT1810- but we're still getting banned client from our tracker.
thelittlefire 0 Report post Posted October 20, 2008 Here I'm assuming there's site documentation... are you sure uT 1.8.1 is allowed? It's possible something relating to Note to tracker staff: update your build checks! 1.8 is different from 1.7.7. The reserved bit is no longer set....unless 1.8 isn't allowed either. If there is site resource, are you sure it's not already being addressed?
Firon 3 Report post Posted October 20, 2008 If 1.8 works on the site, then you just need to allow 1.8.1.

mrdyg 0 Report post Posted October 20, 2008 Hello,The latest version I downloaded (12639) no longer has the ability to sort by multiple columns in the main listview (by holding SHIFT when clicking a second column). Will this feature come back? When was it removed? I upgraded to the latest version when my PC was re-imaged, so I don't recall what version I was using previously.Thanks. Firon 3 Report post Posted October 20, 2008 Secondary sorting still works. I'm using it right now.You do need to make sure that your primary sorting is "compatible". Like, primary sorting by downloaded amount and secondary sorting by anything else won't work.
rafi 193 Report post Posted October 20, 2008 why not?
mrdyg 0 Report post Posted October 20, 2008 Thanks for the quick reply! And sorry for the incorrect report. I was trying to sort first by "Added on" and then by "Done" (amount completed), which was not responding. But based on your advice I tried it the other way around and it works.Cheers! thelittlefire 0 Report post Posted October 21, 2008 Some sorts to not have "tiers" of sorting. Prime instance being Added On... It is highly unlikely/impossible to get two torrents with identical added on times. Therefore there is no subset of torrents to sort by. Personally I like Status > Share Ratio
Firon 3 Report post Posted October 21, 2008 It's basically because for the secondary sort to work, you need to have items that are identical in the primary sorting.
rafi 193 Report post Posted October 21, 2008 the question was why should it behave this why ? sort is sort (for each column per it's type), why should columns' types effect it's operation at all ?
Firon 3 Report post Posted October 21, 2008 Because that's the only way for it to behave. It's a problem in practice, not theory. With certain column types, you aren't going to get any torrents that have identical values, so a secondary sort would never be able to sort within those. Ultima 7 Report post Posted October 21, 2008 Do understand the terminology used. Secondary sorting is used only when primary sorting is not sufficient (it is secondary to the primary). When is primary sorting not sufficient? When multiple items have the same values under the primary sort key/column. How does µTorrent break the tie? Using secondary sorting. Isochroma 0 Report post Posted October 24, 2008 And of course however you sort, after restart the cute little column header arrows will have been magically erased...
thelittlefire 0 Report post Posted October 26, 2008 @Isochroma Of course it does. That is a KNOWN problem with the listview control. This is not a troubleshooting thread.
Guest Report post Posted October 26, 2008 One thing I encountered on some forums:It seems like µTorrent can't handle ~60 seeding torrents and 1 download for me.When I seed my 60 torrents without downloading anything, there are no problems whatsoever. However if I start a download, I won't get max. speed and it seems like I'm not getting enough connections (4 connections for the downloading torrent, 0 for the seeding torrents). In order to get max. speed I have to stop all the seeding torrents, so the connections on the downloading torrent raise from 4 to ~25.I can confirm that. Works the same.
