µTorrent 3.0 "Falcon" (32-bit) alpha 25207

Recommended Posts

Just wondering for this feature:

"- Feature: make more colors skinnable"

What colors is being referred to?

http://forum.utorrent.com/viewtopic.php?id=76840

Check the 2.0.4 skin file I posted in the op. It's a zip file. I need to update it with the new settings we added recently. I'm planning on updating the 'creating a skin' guide sometime soon.

I noticed with build 2286 (and a few builds prior) that I encounter interface lag when right clicking speeds in the status bar to set speed caps.

This delay can be anywhere up to 4 seconds and results in the window showing "(Not Responding)" in the title.

I'm just wondering if anyone else has seen this issue as I cannot establish a pattern of occurrence? The issue is intermittent but when it happens, it keeps happening until restart.

Edit: Fixed typo and cleaned up the last sentence.

uTorrent 3.0 Alpha build 22186

The /directory option is not working under Linux + Wine 1.3.1. It's working with uTorrent 2.2 and earlier, and also it's not a problem with Windows 7.

wine utorrent.exe /directory 'z:\blah' 'z:\blah\my.torrent'

will give you a message saying it can't find "directory" (it's thinking it's a directory, not a command line option).

This works: wine utorrent.exe 'z:\blah\my.torrent' /directory 'z:\blah'

But the problem is if you try the last one with uTorrent 2.2, you get the "add torrent" dialog box.

Fix: interpret /directory as a command line option and allow it to be used just like in earlier versions.

not sure if its just me... but streaming seems to have been broken in this build(worked fine on prior builds)

when i try to stream(or force stream) it completely crashes and has to restart (many dumps submitted via the built in crash reporter) and no matter what program i choose (web, vlc, mpc) i get the same

You don't need to install the WebUI.

Click on the gear symbol to go to options -> Click Web -> Click Enable uTorrent Web Remote Control.

Enter a username and password, uTorrent will validate it and allow you to use it.

Go to your browser and type: http://web.utorrent.com

Enter your username and password, and VWALLA! WebUI without any complex set up :) It's quite cool actually.

Bug: Global rate limiting affects UTP rates to local peers.

Limit local peer bandwidth: False.

Local peer added manually.

The local peer was only able to upload at the set rate. Upon toggling: net.upnp_tcp_only to true; upload rates increased to the expected speed.

Checked on physical and VM hosts, same behavior was noted in all my tests :)

420 and others who have been experiencing problems with https in the 3.0 client:

We have just pushed a new version to autoupdate (r22519) which fixes a couple of bugs related to https. Please let us know if you are still having problems with the new client.

Thanks for your help in debugging this.

Not sure if this is the right thread/section to post 3.0 bugs, but here it is:

Bug: Text clipping in the UI with Windows set to high DPI (150%)

Could you provide a link to build 22329 until 22519 has been fixed with the crash issues.

I just installed 22519 and I can right-click on the Feeds label as much as I want without any crashes. You should probably submit a log so they can analyze it.

It's still broken. Same as in this post: http://forum.utorrent.com/viewtopic.php?pid=524978#p524978. If there's something else I should look for, let me know.

P.S. No crashes for me either.

I've upgraded to 22519 but now the app keeps crashing, one easy way to make it crash is to right click on FEEDS label and crashes.

Do you have some crashdumps (.dmp) in %appdata%\utorrent?

If yes, make a RAR archive and upload it to http://www.mediafire.com/ (and post the link)

Our GUI does not handle high DPI at all.

New 3.0 up with the crashes fixed.

Not exactly, mine crashes every time I try to show the UI. Starts as tray icon, crashes immediately as soon as I left click to open the UI. If I right click and choose show UI, it crashes once the UI is shown.

Interestingly enough, it seems to stay running properly as a tray icon otherwise.

Dumps: http://www.megaupload.com/?d=JABMQC16

EDIT: Just re-installed from the 'Get Falcon' link and all is well. Strange. Really like the new look, BTW!
