Firon
Make another thread. That has NOTHING to do with this release or this thread. On another note, the Vista crash issue has finally been solved (in 12495). Thanks to all who helped track down the issue.Barring any more bugs, this will be the final beta, and we'll be doing a release candidate shortly. rafi
- Fix: avoid duplicate connections with the same IDWhat did this cause and what does it effect now ?
Greg Hazel
- Fix: avoid duplicate connections with the same IDWhat did this cause and what does it effect now ?uTorrent mostly protected against this - if an outgoing connection was made and a previous connection (incoming or outgoing) to the same peer ID already existed, it would drop the new connection. The missing piece was if two incoming connections from the same peer ID arrived, it would not drop one of them. So in some cases two connections to the same peer, one over IPv4 and one over IPv6 for example, could be made. The new behaviour is to always enforce one connection per peer ID. This is in addition to allow_same_ip.

Greg Hazel
Nope, not the "Vista bug". You have the now most common cause of crashes in uTorrent - nvLsp.dll (NVIDIA Application Filter).
Lim-Dul
I don't know if that surprises anybody anymore but indeed the Vista bug seems to be gone or at least successfully circumvented in 12495. Thank you alus et al. ^^And of course jsillup for his thorough testing procedure.

nightshifted
Build #12495 does fix the problem I reported earlier. The changelog says so but I'm reporting that it really works. Thanks to Alus and to everyone else involved in curing it.
Shades29A
nVidia's forceware network manager installed?nope, just NVIDIA nTune Performance Application, and Nvidia Graphic Drivers
khagaroth
That dll is also part of nTune, so yes, uninstall it. All network software from nVidia, including drivers, is seriously broken, it took them 1 year to release usable NIC drivers (67.8.9) that don't either BSOD or cripple SATA performance.
