ioannis Posted October 16, 2014 Report Share Posted October 16, 2014 When you run uTorrent, it connects to various URLs to fetch Ads and Offers, which will show within the interface. Adding these URLs to the hosts file disables them ever (hopefully) reaching you through uTorrent. Well, i think i dont mind if it just downloads them (if it counts to their revenue stream) as long as they are not shown.Using the in-app configuration showing these apps is disabled altogether, so i think i am ok with that "for now". I never even notice any of those lower right icons now (due to program NetMeter being "always on top" which conveniently hides them).But as you've now drawn my attention back to them (thanks! ). that android icon appears ~45 seconds later. Got zero feeds, so not sure if that part runs, but yes. Sometimes, not always, but in some launch instances it behaves this way intermittently - like 30 seconds uploading then 10 sec freeze.
