AJZ
weird bug: I hope I can explain this properly... Lets say I have 10 torrents in queue and the torrent list only shows 5, when I scroll to the bottom of the list, this causes the rss feeds list to scroll the same amount. meaning, if I dont scroll and then move to the rss list it is at the top of the rss list, but if I scroll down 5 torrents in the torrent list, when I move to the rss list, it will show the 5th most recent torrent at the top. why these two things are/should be connected, I dont know. DreamWalkerGuy
ever since updating to 15638 I've been having uTorrent crash every 20 minutes with a "uTorrent ahs crashed. Unable to generate crash dump." now it's saying there is a update but it can't download the update. I am currently running this on Windows 7 RC1
Pr1XseL
To update to newer build when auto update fails you must download µTorrent manually and exit µTorrent before installing < if this also fails then uninstall and reinstall !!!Always look for more ways before posting these simple questions or try FAQ or IRC chat channel ! Firon
It does show it. But if you've had no torrent connections whatsoever, there will be no icon.
DeadSea
the new utorrent 1.8.3 build has installed ask.comhowever I didnt really put a check mark on it during the installation..did not even agree to ask toolbars termsnow there is no toolbar however if I type in the address bar the words I am searching, firefox uses ask.com instead of google.does utorrent really do that?( install something though I didnt approve to) or is it just me? moogly
@DeadSea: http://forum.utorrent.com/viewtopic.php?id=56428Unless uT 1.8.3 has a bug with Ask's bar not still reported, it's you. http://forum.utorrent.com/viewtopic.php?pid=405577#p405577

avatarl
Is something wrong with the recent build? I'm seeding at 35-40kb/s but somehow utorrent reports 80+.Edit: Ok, I just noticed something not nice... What the hell is the opt-out Ask.com doing there...????????Nevermind, I found the announcement... Not very nice... And here I thought only Bitcomet and Vuze were adware... SkyHi
I've noticed that with 1.8.3 stable, less leechers get connected to the torrents that I'm seeding, and the upload speed is unstable, going from 0 to 90kb/s.This isn't happening with the 1.8.2 with which I seed the same torrents at 100kb/s, which is my connection limit. rafi
did you try with advanced->bt.trans_disposition = 5 ?
SkyHi
No. What exactly does that setting do? And why should I be searching advanced settings, while I don't have to do that with the 1.8.2 version?
rafi
cause if you like to help a bit troubleshooting, this is the way - by elimination. This disables uTP, and can help figure up if this is the root cause to your issue.edit:is net.calc_overhead = false the default now ? I thought it should have been true ! wolf550e
It seems I am unable to install the latest version when I choose not to install the ask.com toolbar. Is the toolbar mandatory? I am using wine on linux, but previous versions of utorrent worked fine.
Richard Choi
wolf550e: the toolbar is not mandatory... what do you mean that you are unable to install?

rseiler
"UAC must be completed to install in Vista or higher" might not be the best phrasing. I, for one, don't quite understand it. Do you mean UAC must be enabled?
Richard Choi
No, there was a bug in the past where uTorrent would pop up the Windows UAC if you chose to install the client. If you cancelled out of the UAC dialog, uTorrent would not handle that case properly and end up in a partially-installed state.
SomeoneElse.jp
Why was the ask.com spyware toolbar, webpage, and search gear bundled into the install on this version? I thought that uTorrent was one of the few companies left not trying to puke this stuff into people's computers. Very disappointed in that really...
