Keloran Posted November 1, 2005 Report Posted November 1, 2005 defenatlly, pagination needs to be defaultd to same as phpbb possibly, but apart from that i love it//edit<--- new avatar to go with minimal look, hehe
boo Posted November 1, 2005 Report Posted November 1, 2005 Hmm, ludde/vurlix forgot to keep members avatars Lucky for me I still had the avatar on my computer.
vurlix Posted November 1, 2005 Report Posted November 1, 2005 The converter script doesn't convert avatars unfortunately.
Ultima Posted November 1, 2005 Report Posted November 1, 2005 I like! PunBB feels a lot faster than phpBB (could it be placebo, since it's new? =P)Maybe it's the fact that there's less images...
tumu Posted November 1, 2005 Report Posted November 1, 2005 Less images and more clean HTML code renders faster.Remember to check the different styles in your profile settings.
MechR Posted November 1, 2005 Report Posted November 1, 2005 Oog, looks like my old password was too long, so I had to change it...
Ultima Posted November 1, 2005 Report Posted November 1, 2005 Love the Oxygen forum style; minimalism and cleanliness to the max =POne little thing to note, though... it seems that the timestamps are off. My timezone is usually -4 hours, but for some odd reason, I have to set it to +1 hour for PunBB to display the correct time...
boo Posted November 1, 2005 Report Posted November 1, 2005 I think that the name of the one who created a thread should be under the threadname, not next to it. Then move the page counter next to the thread name.Another thing I dont like is the new post tag next to thread name when there is a new post, you can alread see it by looking at the icon next to the thread name.
Ultima Posted November 1, 2005 Report Posted November 1, 2005 The username being next to the threadname is purely for space-saving reasons, I think...One more thing to note (that's annoying about PunBB) is that even after you've read a thread, PunBB doesn't mark it as so. The icon to the left still shows that the thread is unread (incorrect). This makes it hard to navigate around...Edit: All's well with the timestamp now =]
boo Posted November 1, 2005 Report Posted November 1, 2005 Love the Oxygen forum style; minimalism and cleanliness to the max =POne little thing to note, though... it seems that the timestamps are off. My timezone is usually -4 hours, but for some odd reason, I have to set it to +1 hour for PunBB to display the correct time...before it was GMT, now its CET Strange, first I had to put it to CET +7 to get correct time, now I had to change again to CET +1 to get correct time
ScubaSteve Posted November 1, 2005 Report Posted November 1, 2005 seems ok. still needs abit of work for it to be properly useable. at the moent the font on the topic name is too small. and it could use a seperate column for who the post was made by instead of putting the posters name next to the title which imo just looks plain tacky.
Ultima Posted November 1, 2005 Report Posted November 1, 2005 Hm... there's a mod to fix the "read topics" thing I mentioned above. Annoying that it has to be a mod, but oh well...It seems to have last been updated for an older version of PunBB, so I'm not sure whether it works for this version. Just in case (if anyone decides to install this), I'd suggest you follow the instructions in the "install.txt" instead of using the patch.diff.Edit: lol got tired of making a new post every time I discover something new... Anway, it seems that PunBB v1.3 will natively "fix" this read topics "bug" =P
boo Posted November 1, 2005 Report Posted November 1, 2005 Another thing I notied, to make it easier for member, the list of smiles and various BBcode should have buttons like before.Plus I found a bug, I noticed that the forum now doesn't show images of [img*][/img*] (without *) tags.
ScubaSteve Posted November 2, 2005 Report Posted November 2, 2005 was wrong about the font being made bigger for the topic title. just make each cell 34px high instead of the current height of 25px. it makes everything look too squashed and hard to read.and maybe change the light brown/blue whatever colour they are on the theme to images, just that the board looks v bland and flat with the default plain colour bits.
Firon Posted November 2, 2005 Report Posted November 2, 2005 bbcode seems to be working in lowercase, not uppercase it'll get fixed soon 'nuff I suppose
silverfire Posted November 2, 2005 Report Posted November 2, 2005 utorrentutorrent.comuTorrentEDIT: Awww... the censor feature didn't work T_T
boo Posted November 2, 2005 Report Posted November 2, 2005 utorrentutorrent.comuTorrentEDIT: Awww... the censor feature didn't work T_Twhat should it have done, censored 'torrent'
PabUK Posted November 2, 2005 Report Posted November 2, 2005 I'm a fan of PunBB, so I like this change.
MechR Posted November 2, 2005 Report Posted November 2, 2005 what should it have done, censored 'torrent' Probably meant to autoconvert the u to µ.
boo Posted November 2, 2005 Report Posted November 2, 2005 I think the old forum was better, the only good thing with the new one is the forum search, I hated the old forum search
Loatroll Posted November 2, 2005 Author Report Posted November 2, 2005 Personally I'm really satisfied with the new forum One thing though, the currently read topic should be marked as such. (I have no doubt that this'll be added )
Intangir Posted November 2, 2005 Report Posted November 2, 2005 It was a bit disorienting at first; I thought I screwed up some setting on Firefox. Text is a bit small for my eyes (sans glasses at least), but nothing I can't fix with a Ctrl-MWheel Down. Then I saw the remove sigs option and I was sold. Bless you. Seems to load a bit faster, too, but then what do I know with my 6 or so posts?
1c3d0g Posted November 2, 2005 Report Posted November 2, 2005 The converter script doesn't convert avatars unfortunately.Doesn't matter, a quick upload here and there fixes that in no time. Thanks Vurlix/Ludde, for improving the forums. It's much appreciated.
