crash_1
The problem is that most users are running version 2.0 and it creates problems ISP in the CIS. Many ISP simply prohibit UDP traffic going through ports 1000-65535. I tried a sniffer to watch that and what size to send / receive uTorrent 2.0.1, and 95% UDP packets have the size from 30 to 50 bytes! (Where are the promises in the size of 600 bytes - a lot) And the channel is 1Gbps, which is already talking about the 500000 users who sit on the DSL channels in 10Mbps? rafi
it's not so good with packets, but it's not THAT bad either... http://forum.utorrent.com/viewtopic.php?pid=459552#p459552
Firon
30-50 byte packets aren't data traffic. That's protocol communication, and that is identical to what you'd see with TCP.

beachread64
how in the heck do you cancel your subscription to this site. i evidently signed up on a site that popped up on the utorrent site. i found out later i didn't have to pay anything for utorrent. then what is this site i paid $28.56 for doing on the utorrent site? and now i can't cancel the darn thing. the telephone number on my bank statement is wrong. so what is my recourse? SkyHi
I've noticed that while downloading many torrents (like 5 or more) at my lines max speed (about 1,4Mbps), the upload overhead reaches more than 70kb/s. I've set the upload limit to 90, and the net.calc_overhead to "false" because while being "true", when I once limited the upload speed to 5kb/s my download speed fell to 0 and my router stopped the connection and changed ip (!). Why did this happen? The main problem is that this big overhead doesn't let great upload speed. Only about 15kb/s (75 overhead + 15 data upload=90 upload limit). Is there a way to reduce or limit the overhead?I'm using the 2.0.1 beta of course in Win 7 Ultimate 64bit.Thanx a lot in advance!
rafi
no way, at least not right now. 5% overhead (~70K) is typical for 1.4M in TCP . Eventually - when they'll improve the uTP protocol (which is worse for now), they might be able to reduce it. For now - a download limit can "help"... pot
Hey, love uTorrent! I was curious what this bug/fix was about?"- Fix: Fixed half-open limit on Windows 7"
Firon
Windows 7 has no half-open limit, so we added some code to raise uTorrent's halfopen limit to 400 on Vista SP2 (which also removed it), as well as Windows 7. This didn't actually work on 7, so now we're fixing it so it does.
Step
@Firon, what about routers that limit the number of half-open connections? how behave uTorrent in this case?
Firon
Well, we also lowered bt.connect_speed and I've never seen a router that does that anyway. They all just have limits on the maximum size of the session table, which would be completely unaffected by half-open limits.

mkk
Tiny problem: When hitting SHIFT+DEL on a torrent in the list to "remove the selected torrent and all associated data" the torrent file is left behind in the finished folder. So it seems to be doing a "delete data" rather than "delete torrent + data".

alex14san
When I set bt.transp_disposition to 31 or 255 my uTorrent does not connect to 2.0 peers any more.Wasn't 'new uTP header' (16) supposed to be 2.0+? 'New' header changed again? Changelog says nothing about it.Add: and overhead really lowered, almost halved. Now I have 110-120k upload speed and 10-15k overhead, was 100-110k UL, 20-30k OH. rafi
1. bt.transp_disposition is being set to *0 when BitTorrent->bandwidth management is unchecked. I'll try to see if I can edit into here repro steps, later... 2. Also (for Firon's sake... who have not read what was previously reported in this thread) they are both not in sync sometimes if you do not exit and enter preferences.Edit (for 1): 1. install uT in a new directory and exit2. put this settings.dat file into that directory3. activate uT and re-test #1and don't ask me how exactly did it get this way. My guess - some manual settings of transp_disposition in advanced made it's state be wiered... http://www.mediafire.com/?mymuznyirzt
