mahs49
Every time I right-click the uTorrent (3.2 Beta x32 Build 26934) icon and then click "Exit", uTorrent crashes. Then it keeps showing as a "Background Process" in Task Manager (Windows 8 Consumer Preview).Double-clicking the uTorrent Desktop icon does not start the program, only rebooting Win8 does. Then uTorrent "Checks" all/most of the active downloads.Crash Dump fails to be sent to developers. Can this be explained or corrected? rafi
Can this be explained...?A Windows 8 Consumer Preview bug ? Did you report it to M$? ...
mahs49
Thanks Rafi. I am not sure if it would be Win8, because so far I have found it much faster and more stable than Win7. Also I had no similar problems with other programs or with previous versions of uTorrent. On another note:[Can anyone verify if Right-Clicking a Column on the Lower Pane & Selecting "Reset" ALWAYS CRASHES uTorrent 3.2 Beta (build 26934) w/ a crash dump file? Thanks!]I have just tried Right-Clicking columns in the Lower Pane and then selected "Reset" twice. It worked without crashing.
DeathStalker
It does not seem that the Shutdown issue is Win8 related. It also occurs in Win7 x64.3.2x cannot be used on x64 until this issue is properly resolved.
evocator
I downgraded to 26904, and it began to upload immediately. Though still crashes adding new torrent. Not a very rich choice...

kshithijsharma
I'm unable to download using utorrent 3.2 beta. I tried to download several torrents with seeds over 4000, but utorrent shows 0 dl speed. Ironically over a thousand seeds and peers are detected, and none connected. This problem eliminated on changing to 3.1.3. I use proxy(I live in a hostel where one has to use authenticated proxy)

Ryrynz
Shameless feature request: Could we get Utorrent remembering the last view per label rather than just the one remembered view for every label? Thanks.

DreadWingKnight
There's no need for a 64-bit version, so there isn't a 64-bit version.

mahs49
I have found the cause of the problem I reported above yesterday (#202). It was certainly caused by TuneUp Utilities 2012. This nice utility integrates itself with Windows 8 Consumer Preview x64 and has a new "Program Deactivator". This "Program Deactivator" gives you the choice to either "Enable" or "Disable" any of your installed programs. It actually works very nicely and retrieves valuable CPU and RAM usage by preventing the "Disabled" programs from loading at Windows start up and also by "Deactivating" the program after you close it. So far so good. But if you "Enable" uTorrent permanently, this happens by default if you check "Start uTorrent when Windows starts", TuneUp Utilities' "Program Deactivator" will not allow you to completely "Exit" uTorrent !!!; it will be kept running as a "Background Process" and this will prevent you from either starting uTorrent again (because it is still running in the background) or exiting uTorrent (because you cannot see it's Icon in the Notification Area). The only way around this will be to either force-Exit uTorrent by clicking "End Task" in "Task Manager" and / or rebooting your system and this will inevitably cause uTorrent to crash and then "Check" the active torrents when you re-start it again (this could be very unpleasant if it takes hours). The answer to this problem turned out to be very simple: “Permanently Disable” uTorrent in TuneUp Utilities’ “Program Deactivator”; when you “Exit” uTorrent it will terminate its “Background Process” in Windows Task Manager after a few seconds and then you will be able to start uTorrent again manually or automatically when Windows starts.I must add that I am getting more used to the quirks of Windows 8 CP x64 and find it more stable and faster than Windows 7 x64. Pre-installation check showed no conflict with uTorrent x32 (3.2 beta build 26934) or any other programs and all have actually been running very well indeed. The minor bug in the new TuneUp Utilities 2012 is easily avoided and leaves you with a very nice utility program.
mahs49
jonnyboy.smith: There is a x64 uTorrent version and you could read about it and download it from http://forum.utorrent.com/viewtopic.php?id=93984You should notice that x64 is "experimental" and that the thread has been closed because the x64 version is "unsupported" as Firon stated in his last post. The current beta version of the x32 works very nicely in Win7 x64 for "inexperienced" mortals like us !!!Thanks to evocator for noticing the mistake, my apologies. I have edited with the correct url above.

DeathStalker
@mahs49Interesting. I had Program Deactivation selected as well, only my version does not allow for specific program selection - either the option is selected or de-selected. So have it de-selected at this time. We'll see how things work.Thanks.
