What is the purpose of function "Prioritize by file order"? When i use it, files get their priority(for example "High"), "Pieces" bars turn green, but utorrent doesn't start to download those files.

For example http://imgur.com/UMDfT here i selected some files, using this feature, from X-files torrent.

But the status of torrent is still "Seeding", as you can see here http://i.imgur.com/xJFJ5.png

And utorrent doesn't download files. Maybe i don't understand smth, but i think it's a bug.

Running 2.2.1 RC2 on XP/SP2 with 2 downloads (~50 peers/seeds total, ~20 connected) for 7 hours, speed-graph open - results in memory consumption/leak of 330MB !!! . Top ranking memory consuming app on my PC! :(

Did any of you, users, experience that ? Did any of you, devs, looked at memory consumption at all ? For god sake - it is an RC ... for once - be serious :P And I want my money back... ;)

uTorrent 2.0.4 takes only 30MB:

I expect them both to have the same memory consumption! so, please fix it!

PS: I was using uTP (transp_disposition=26), DHT + PEX - enabled, but I don't think it matters, much.

I tried to update to build 25031 from 24763

My first attempt at downloading the latest RC2 version was 298 kB.

The second was 312 kB. Both refused to run as not being valid .exe files.

Third time was the charm at 390 kB.

I exited uTorrent then tried to run the update. The install dialog opened then disappeared. When I peeked, I saw that my prior session didn't exit cleanly. While the uTorrent icon disappeared from my tooltray, I found some hidden residual process running. I had to force kill it.

I was then able to install the update.

Running full out (2mB DL / 1mB UL), with dozens of seeds and a few downloads, memory usage looks normal at the moment, ~125 mB. Maybe it'll change after 8 hours or so, so I'll watch for indications of any memory leaks.

update:

7 hours later and using ~165kB, about 40% of what firefox is using and also less than thunderbird.

"Open Containing Folder" and "Actions for Double Click" this function does not work correctly!

UI Settings:

Actions for Double Click > Open Folder for seeding and downloading torrents

Location of Downloads in > X:\Downloads\Music\

I have one active torrent, which contains subfolders. Downloading "Top100" folder contains subfolders:

X:\Downloads\Music\Top100\1

X:\Downloads\Music\Top100\2

X:\Downloads\Music\Top100\3

X:\Downloads\Music\Top100\4

Each folder contains a 1-4 its subfolders Cover:

X:\Downloads\Music\Top100\1\Cover

X:\Downloads\Music\Top100\2\Cover

X:\Downloads\Music\Top100\3\Cover

X:\Downloads\Music\Top100\4\Cover

1. Select active torrents

2. Right click menu > Open Containing Folder (or double click)

3. Open subfolder X:\Downloads\Music\Top100\1\Cover, and should open primary - X:\Downloads\Music\Top100.

µT 2.2.1 RC 2 (build 25031)

Win 7, win xp sp3

This is a side effect of a change we made to avoid opening new explorer.exe processes. I think we've solved most of the edge cases in RC3.

It's still on proceses after close even Windows 7 SP1.

Great. I thought it's has been fix, I doubt it's on uTorrent or Windows?

After final release if it's not fix it's time to back to 1.8.5 for me.

Firon: how come you are not attending to this bug ? There is a whole thread devoted to it :(

Just add a general cut-off timeout and it's fixed ... :P

Some cosmetic things

Fist image shows play button in torrent list to crop the image if column width smaller than icon width

while play button in file list will skew to fit the column width

http://img196.imageshack.us/i/81090937.png/

Second image shows play button in the torrent list to have transparent background

while play button in file list has white background.

Every bandwidth speed test now fails:

[2011-03-08 21:21:24] Connection failed error: A request to send or receive data was disallowed because the socket is not connected and (when sending on a datagram socket using a sendto call) no address was supplied. (10057)

Running Win7 x64 SP1 and µTorrent 2.2.1 Release Candidate 3 (build 25057).

You are correct. It's a poorly designed feature/behavior.

-- 2011-03-09: Version 2.2.1 (build 25110)

- Change: Add a 'no' option to the 'set download location' 'overwrite' case that allows just changing the locaiton.

Hmm... seems like you have a bug, Firon, in build 25110 ... In this one changelog line.... ;)

Congrats and good luck with the new release :)

Edit:

Any chance for the help file to be avilable any soon ? (maybe WITH the release this time... :P)
